Community Center Attendant

The City of Nevada Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for a part-time attendant position at the Community Center.  This position requires the ability to work a flex schedule, 7 days per week and will carry out customer/public service duties.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the basic administration and maintenance of the community center
  • Answering the telephone and handling normal office functions
  • Assisting in the administration of recreational leagues and activities provided by the City
  • Opening and closing the building
  • Maintaining records of recreation center attendance, equipment, injuries, discipline, and activities

Head Camp Counselor

The City of Nevada Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for a part-time Head Camp Counselor.  This position will oversee the After School and Summer Camp programs.  Graduation from High School or the equivalent and a valid driver’s license is required.

  • Assist Recreation Services Manager with implementing daily activities
  • Supervisor camp counselors and campers
  • Greet campers and parents
  • Ensure Camp Counselors are ready for the day
  • Maintain records for the Summer Day Camp
  • Ensuring age appropriate activities are planned and implemented
  • Point of contact for parent’s questions and concerns for After School and Summer Day Camp
  • Operate basic office equipment and proficiently use a computer with the installed word processing, database and records management software needed to perform clerical tasks, input necessary records and to retrieve and utilize information
  • Move up to 30 pounds for programming and office related tasks
  • Ensure all local, state and federal guidelines are followed at all times
  • Keep staff and children files up to date

Must have a current state required physical prior to employment (paid by applicant).

Resident Services Coordinator – Nevada Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the City of Nevada, MO is accepting application for a part-time Resident Services Coordinator.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement supportive service programming in collaboration with housing residents, management, EnVision Center and community resource providers.
  • Provide ongoing outreach services to identify individuals who would benefit from services, recruit volunteers, and identify program and service gaps.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services to residents.
  • Work with residents on case management to ensure understanding of lease requirements.
  • Work with residents to help mediate any issues involving residents to help solve disputes that may affect the housing status of residents.
  • Maintain all necessary information regarding services to residents.
  • Oversee and/or provide crisis intervention, case management and follow-up services to referrals from management, residents or other agencies.
  • Support resident efforts in community building initiatives.
  • Assist other department staff in understanding and participating in the goals and programs initiated by resident services.
  • Review and submit all program reports required to the Executive Director.
  • Attend all required meetings and prepare and participate in additional and/or special projects as required from time to time by Executive Director.
  • Work on community building and community engagement, professionally representing the agency when engaging with the greater community.

Police Officer

The City of Nevada Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.  The starting wage for this position is $33,912 per year. It is a full time position, and includes full benefits such as retirement, health, dental, vision and life insurance as well as paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.  The Police Department also participates in a take-home vehicle program for its officers.
