Aquatic Center Lifeguard
The City of Nevada is currently accepting applications for the following summer seasonal positions at the Walton Aquatic Center:
- Lifeguards (30 positions) – $8.00 per hour
Other Aquatic Center positions will be advertised at a later date
- All positions will be required to work a flexible schedule. Eligible applicants must be at least 15 years of age.
- Lifeguards are required to have their American Red Cross Certification prior to employment. If you are not currently certified, we will discuss options during the interview process.
- For those previously certified, check your certification’s expiration date. Lifeguard certification is only valid for two (2) years.

Fire Department / Firefighter I
Full-Time & Part-Time Positions
NOT TRAINED…NO PROBLEM. WE WILL TRAIN YOU!
If you do not have the Firefighter I and II certifications, the Nevada Fire Department will be hosting a certification course in August. You may still apply for the position but must attend and pass Firefighter I & II in order to retain your full-time or part-time position with the department.
The Nevada Fire Department is now accepting applications for the position of Firefighter I. The starting wage for this position is $28,536 per year for full-time and $11.05 an hour for part-time. The full-time position includes full benefits such as retirement, health, dental, vision and life insurance as well as paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
Eligible applicants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent, a valid Missouri driver’s license or the ability to obtain one. Minimum certifications required include Missouri Firefighter I or other IFSAC Firefighter I Certification, Firefighter II Certification, and live within or relocate to a five-mile radius of the Nevada Fire Station.
