Overview
The Airport Board was established in November of 1979 by Ordinance Number 3237. The Board was created under the direction of the City Charter, Article V, Section 5.1.
Goal & Duties
The Board was established to enforce the performance of all contracts and work and to have charge of all books, property, and assets belonging to the City airport. The Board also supervises the operation of the airport and makes all necessary regulations for the government of the airport. The Board consists of five members originally appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Two members must be residents of the City, the Airport Manager also serves as a constant on the Board. The members serve four-year terms and meet on the call of the Chairperson
