Overview
The Electrical Board was created under the direction of the City Charter, Article VII, Section 2-32.
Goal & Duties
The Board shall examine applicants and their credentials to determine the practical qualifications for the certificate sought; prescribe rules and regulations; maintain all records associated with certificate holders; and recommend any changes as deemed desirable to the City Council.
The Board will consist of not less than five members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council. Two shall be active electricians with at least three and five years of experience; Two people, non-electricians, shall have a thorough knowledge of building and building construction; and one representative from the electric utility. Terms will be three years and shall not serve more than two consecutive terms. The Board shall meet at the call of its chairman or any two members. Three members constitute a quorum and any action shall require the vote of at least three members.
