Animal Control Board

Overview

The Animal Control Board was established on December 19th, 2006 by Ordinance Number 6614. The Board was created under the direction of the City Charter, Article V, Section 5.1. 

Goal & Duties

The Board was established to be an advisory board and make recommendations to the City Manager, and the City Manager's staff or designee regarding the operation and maintenance of the Animal Shelter. The Board shall consist of five members, four must be residents of the City of Nevada and one county resident. The members serve three-year terms and meet on the call of the Chairperson. The Board Chair or designee shall report to the City Council quarterly regarding the state of the Animal Shelter. This Board has been inactive since 2008.
